The 2016 CCDGA District Singles Championship was played on Sunday 14 February at Wyong Golf Club and incorporated into the event was the 2015 Champion of Champions and qualifying for the 2016 Anthony Lamaro Match Play Championship.
The 2015 Champion of Champions event saw the "A" Grade go to Ethan Forsyth (Wyong) , the "B: grade to Bob Baxter (KW), the "C" grade to Mitchell Bonnett (Gosford), the Junior to Chad Mackey (KW) and the Masters to Greg Watton (Wy).
The 2016 Championship was won by Cobie Campbell of Magenta Shores who returned a great score of 2 under to hold off the Wyong champion, Ethan Forsyth, who claimed the runner up prize on a countback from David Morgan. Both Ethan and David fired 70.
The nett event was won by Daniel Ford also of Magenta Shores with a nett score of 66 and Bryce Goldsworthy of Wyong claimed the runner up prize with 67 on a countback.
The Junior trophy went to Chad Mackey (72) from Liam Gocher (73) whilst Greg Watton prevailed in the Masters shooting 72 to runner up, Trevor Walker (Ev) returning 74 to grab his prize on countback.
The draw for the Match Play Championship is presently being prepared and will be available in the event draws section in the next few days.
