Saturday 7 September saw 246 players take to the course at Wyong for this very popular event. Like just about everywhere on the eastern seaboard the day was very windy with frequent strong wind gusts which had some impact on scoring.
At the end of the day Reid Brown (+2) from Pymble took the honours with 71 from Mudgee's Mark Hale (+1) 72 with former Morisset youngster (the former applies both for Morisset and youngster) John Fitzgerald (+1) now playing at Yowani in the ACT grabbing third spot with 73. Best of the locals was former Wyong junior, now playing at both Shelly Beach and St Michaels, Jordan Garner with 75.
In the higher grades Wyong members proved too strong for the visiting players with B grade going to Michael Russell with 85 from Matt East also with 85. Graeme Oakley returned 92 to capture C grade from Stephen Beckett.
