CCDGA too strong for LNCDGA

The annual match between CCDGA and Lower North Coast DGA was played at The Springs over the weekend of 18 / 19 July and CCDGA proved too strong for worthy opponents and retained all of the trophies up for grabs.

The LNCDGA team arrived one junior short due to a last minute withdrawal and in the 4BBB Match Play event on Saturday LNCDGA District Captain, David Bagust, had to play local pairing of Andrew Bond and Liam Gocher and was able to force them to play 15 holes before a result could be determined.

Wyong junior, Eden Middleton, was given the opportunity to "play for" LNCDGA in the Sunday singles and grabbed the opportunity with both hands and recorded a strong win over Liam Gocher. District Vice President commented that Eden would probably never be selected again but he was obviously joking.

Commitments to metropolitan clubs for the Apperly Shield (oh how we wish metropolitan clubs could grow their own talent) forced major changes to the team that earlier defeated HRDGA and inclusive of Eden in all 5 talented new Juniors were introduced to inter district competition.

Kaine Andres (Ev), Jake Eliasson (Tou), Liam Gocher (SB), Aaron Walters (Ev) and Eden Middleton (Wy) all performed extremely well and will undoubtedly be youngster to watch over the coming years and will undoubtedly be the nucleus of our junior squad in the near future.

Full details of all matches can be found on the "Representatives" page.
