The local playoff for the coveted spot in the State final of the NSW Men's Fourball Championship, to be played at Bonville 6-9 October, was played at Gosford Sunday 9 August.
The Gosford pairing of Gary Sammons and Tony Callaghan proved that local knowledge can play a big part in these events and secured the trip to Bonville with a score of plus 6.
Three pairs finished with plus 2 and on countback Norm Baker and John Irwin from Magenta Shores finished runners up and therefore first reserves should Gary and Tony be unable to travel to Bonville. Mangrove Mts Don Thompson and Rod Morri also had plus 2 but had to settle for 3rd spot and both are now hoping that for some reason Gary, Tony, Norm and John all find themselves unable to make the trip.
