The old adage of horses for courses proved correct when Morisset locals John Fitzgerald and Logan Salvador went extra holes to determine the 2014 CCDGA Singles Championship played at Morisset on Sunday 19 January.
John and Logan returned a great score of 70, 2 under par over the regulation 18 holes, before setting off for a few extra holes to determine the Championship. John's experience eventually got him home over Logan, still in the Junior ranks and a youngster sure to be District Champion in years to come.
Logan's score resulted in him taking the Junior title and Everglades stalwart, Trevor Walker, captured the Masters title after missing out in playoffs in this event more than once in the last few years.
The 2013 Champion of Champions was played in conjunction with the Singles Championship and Wyong's Craig Wickham proved too strong for the other Club Champions in the field.
