Sunday 24 April was the first of the 2016 representative matches and for the first time the event was played at Paterson Golf Club.
Not only had the CCDGA team never been to Paterson previously but some of the Hunter boys had never ventured that far before (not that Paterson is that isolated, only about 40 kms from Maitland).
The weather was perfect, the condition of the course great and some pretty good golf was played by both teams. HRDGA jumped out to a commanding lead and took the first 4 matches and squared the fifth. Things were not looking good for CCDGA but the tail wagged and won a few matches but in the end HRDGA won the coveted Artie Mollett Shield 7 matches to 5.
