James Dennis proves too strong for rivals.

Although the day dawned wet the majority of the entrants in the 2012 Schoolboys/girls Championship took to the course and in the end managed to stay reasonably dry. James Dennis, well known throughout the District and a member of our District Junior squad, played steady golf to take the title comfortably from Ben Saunders from the Shelly Beach club by 5 shots.

District Captain, Tony Lamaro, was impressed with the manner in which all of the boys conducted themselves (unfortunately no girls entered the competition) both on and off the golf course and especially with some of the scores returned by some of the younger players. Many of our Junior squad have reached, or are fast approaching, the dreaded age of 18 when they will move into the senior ranks but if todays scores are anything to go by then our Junior squad should remain more than competitive for some time to come.
