On a fine and sunny December morning 30 of the Coasts most promising junior golfers teed off in the annual schools tournament. In all 16 schools were represented  and the players ages ranged from 13 to 18. The Executive were pleased that after a period of some 4 or 5 years there was one young lady entered and although a relative newcomer to the game her enthusiasm suggests that this will not be her last tournament.

Some fine golf was played and in the open event Jack Milne from Shelly Beach Golf Club representing St Peters College took the honours with a sub par round of 70. Logan Salvador (Morriset) representing Lakes Grammar shot 73 to claim the runner up prize whilst Everglades players Matt Moroney and Jacob Wesson representing St Edwards won the nett events with 70 and 71 respectively.

In the 15 years and under event Branden Biddle (Everglades) representing St Edwards triumphed with 76 to edge out Toukley up and comer Beau Willett on 77. The nett event in this age group was a very close affair with Gosford's Brendan Potter returning 64 to narrowly defeat fellow St Edwards player Liam Gocher from Shelly Beach by one shot.

Once again St Edwards were crowned Champion school.

CCDGA officials present at the event were impressed with the manner in which all of the contestants presented themselves on the course and in the clubhouse and there is little doubt that with youngsters of this calibre coming through the ranks golf on the Central Coast will be the winner in years to come.
