The annual tournament was played at Shelly Beach on Monday 3 December and the kids could not have prayed for a better day.
Nothing but a zephyr was blowing, the course was in great condition and even your old correspondent felt like dusting off the clubs.
Played in shotgun format the field all moved well and the only blemish was when 2 groups in a row lost balls approaching the 1st green and players had to return and play another ball. All did as much as they could to make up the lost ground and the round still finished in close to 4 hours which was a good result given the very young age of some of the players.
At the end of the day someone has to win and the results are as follows:
Girls - Nett Runner up Desiree Herden (SB), Nett Winner Brooke Botting (Ev), Scratch Runner up Georgie Clune (Ev), Scratch Winner & CCDGA Schoolgirl Champion Abbigail Grimish (Ev).
Boys - Nett Runner up Flynn Choi (Gos), Nett Winner Finlay Taylor (SB), Scratch Runner up Zach Camilleri (SB), Scratch Winner & CCDGA Schoolboy Champion Shayden Binder (Ev).
The schools event, based on the aggregate of 3 scores by students of that school, was won by Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College Tumbi Umbi Campus.
